Is your service as reliable as better known providers like Verizon?
We’re more reliable, much more. Our fiber-optic network utilizes the latest in Nortel digital switching equipment-there’s no newer or better system out there. Plus, as our customer you’ve always got a technician right around the corner from you who’s trained and equipped to service any problems you’re having with any of our products or services.

One technical advantage is that Econotek uses self-healing ring architecture in its fiber network design. This means that if the cable is ever accidentally cut, all traffic is immediately reversed along the ring and there is no disruption to your service.

Econotek’s Nortel switches are equipped with battery-powered back-up systems, so if the power ever fails Econotek will continue to provide all of its residential customers ongoing telephone service they can really count on. For example, following the tragedy on September 11th, all Econotek users were able to call their loved ones without any difficulty because our service was uninterrupted.

What types of services do you offer?
Check it out – 212 numbers, unlimited local calling, very competitive long distance rates, T1 high-speed Internet service, and Digital Satellite TV that’s better than cable.

Why haven’t I heard of Econotek Communications?
You probably haven’t heard of us before because our services are only available in specific office and residential spaces in Manhattan that Econotek has hardwired with fiber-optic lines. So, if you haven’t been in one of our buildings, you haven’t had the chance to experience the outstanding, affordable service we’ve been providing our customers since 1997. But since you’re reading this the chances are you have or you will be moving into one soon, so you’ll be able to choose this cost-effective and caring alternative to the existing monopoly you’ve been stuck with until now.

How long will I have to wait for my services to start once I sign up?
We’re fast. We deliver most services within 48 to 72 hours of your call. Getting your telephone, T.V. Internet installed this quickly with only one visit may sound unbelievable, but that’s how we operate. And if you ever have a problem, remember that an Econotek technician is just around the corner to address your problems immediately on any of your services.

What happens when my service is switched over to Econotek?
You may not even notice it happening. You will be notified of the date of the switch over, and typically a residential customer will be without service for five to ten minutes while the actual switch over takes place.

Will I really have one bill for local and long distance, Internet, and satellite TV?
Yes you will, and it’s simple, straightforward and easy to understand.

When will I start saving money?
Immediately. You’ll see real savings on your first bill. Econotek customers spend less on all services than they would if they used the competition.

What are my bill payment options?
You can pay by regular mail (with a check or money order), or by telephone using a major credit card. Soon we’ll also offer automatic debit payments and payment over the Internet.

Will I have to sign a long-term contract?
No. You may choose from a variety of commitments ranging from month-to-month up to 2-year programs. We guarantee the low rate you choose for the entire term.

What if Econotek rates go down during my commitment period?
If Econotek lowers its rates, as an existing Econotek customer you will get the new rate. If rates increase, your rate won’t rise – you’re guaranteed your same low rate for the length of your commitment.

Can I keep my present phone number?
Yes, you can. In fact, your current provider is charging all customers a monthly fee for this service, even if you never switch providers. You can also choose to receive a new telephone number if you want one.

Will I still be in the phone book and be able to use directory assistance?
Yes, your directory listing in the Verizon phone book will remain the same. And you’ll have access to local as well as national directory assistance just like you always have.

Do I need a receiver (set-top box) for every television?
Yes. Because Econotek TV delivers an all-digital signal, a digital receiver is required for every television. Each plan includes at least one receiver, and you can always add as many additional receivers as you receive for a small monthly charge.

Are local network affiliates available at my property?
Yes. A building-wide satellite master antenna delivers local channels via analog lines throughout your property. Check the listing for available channels.

Are regional sports available at my property?
Yes. A building-wide satellite master antenna delivers regional sports via analog throughout your property. Check the listing for available channels.

What is the difference between your 100% digital signal and other providers' analog/digital offerings?
Econotek delivers its channels digitally whether it is a “basic” channel or not. Many other providers offer their “basic” channels – the channels most viewers watch most often - via an analog signal. That means Econotek delivers digital clarity on all of its channels, including the channels you watch most.

Will my digital video recorder like Tivo or Ultimate TV work with Econotek TV?
Yes. You can just follow the directions included with your DVR system. In fact, because our signal is 100% digital, it will allow your digital recorder to function better and receive a clearer signal than with most cable television providers.

Do I need a phone line connected to every receiver?
Yes, you should always have a phone line connected to your receiver in order to view Pay Per View offerings as well as to receive adequate D.S.T.V service. You do not, however, need a separate line for the receiver as it will not interrupt a phone call when ordering a pay-per-view offering.

Will I have to sign a long-term contract?
No. You may choose from a variety of commitments ranging from month-to-month up to 2-year programs. We guarentee the low rate you choose for the entire term.
